Fenghuang is located at the southwest ridge of central China's Hunan Province. Hemmed in by rolling mountains and watered by a smoothly flowing river, flagstone streets, rows of traditional wooden houses built on stilts, towers, bridges everywhere, small boats rowed down the river, Fenghuang is another must visit place when you come to Zhangjiajie.
There are 3 ways you can reach Fenghuang from Zhangjiajie:
By Bus: Take bus at Zhanjiajie Bus Sation from 8:30 am to 14:30pm, it will take you about 4 hours from Zhangjiajie to Fenghuang. After completing the highway between Zhangjiajie and Fenghuang in 2014, most buses go to Fenghuang by highway.
By Train: This is the most economical but not convenient way to get to Fenghuang from Zhangjiajie, you should arrive in Jishou Railway Station by train then switch to shuttle buses from Jishou to Fenghuang. Now fewer visitors will choose this way to reach Fenghuang.
By Flight: Fenghuang is near to Guizhou province, there is a airport called Tongren Airport, which is only 30 kilometers away from Fenghuang, so you can choose to arrive in Tongren by plane and then go to Fenghuang.
