During the Spring Festival holiday of the Year of the Monkey, Fenghuang Country received more than 640 thousand visitors and realized a total tourism revenue of 510 million yuan, an year-on-year increase of 15.57% and 9.68% respectively, as released by the Tourism and Culture Bureau of Fenghuang County on Feb. 14.
During the week-long holiday, seven New Year-themed activities were held in the county to embrace the Spring Festival and attracted numerous tourists from home and abroad, including collection and presentation of Spring Festival couplets, Spring Festival gala themed “Golden Monkey”, dragon dance, Spring Festival photo exhibition, lantern show as well as opera performances and award presentation ceremony at Lantern Festival.
Tourist attractions in Fenghuang Ancient Town such as the Former Residence of Shen Congwen, Yang’s Ancestral Hall and the Former Residence of Xiong Xiling and nearby scenic spots like Miao Museum and Hmong Valley in Shanjing Village attracted crowds of visitors to enjoy a happy holiday.
At night, tens of thousands of glamorous and energy-saving LED lamps lit up the ancient town, which fascinated the visitors.
