It was learnt from the Changsha Frontier Inspection Station on Feb. 13th that Changsha airport witnessed an all-time high passenger throughput during the 7-day Spring Festival Holiday. There were over 200 entry-exit flights carrying more than 40,000 passengers passing through the Changsha Huanghua International Airport in total, up 52% and 51% respectively compared with the same period last year.
Outbound travel has become an important leisure activity for Hunan people during the Spring Festival, thanks to the rapid economic development and income growth. There were 24 regular international routes opened for the 7-day holiday, with 50-odd newly-added chartered round-trip flights to famous tourist resorts in such countries and region as Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Maldives, and Taiwan. Beyond that, the newly opened “Changsha-Los Angeles” scheduled flight last December stimulated the upsurge of outbound travellers.
