A section of the Shanghai-Kunming (Yunnan province) high-speed railway line that will connect the city of Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province with Xinhuang County in Hunan province, is expected to open, on June 16.
This new line means that the people of Guiyang can reach more than 10 major cities in the rest of China easily by train – such as the capital Beijing, the mega city of Shanghai, Changsha in Hunan province and Nanjing in Jiangsu province – all without making a transfer. The journey time between Changsha and Guiyang will be shortened into three hours.
