Themed “Love for the Summer “, 2015 Hunan Worldwide Famous Flower Ecological Culture Festival will be held in Hunan Forest Botanical Garden during July and August. The garden also organize various water-related activities themed “Enjoying Flower Sea in Cool Summer”, bringing a romantic and cool summer to citizens.
Large areas of blooming lavender can be enjoyed at the Cuckoo Square, lakesides of the Sakura Lake, and Sakura Avenue in Hunan Forest Botanical Garden. Over 600 varieties of lotuses are also to be appreciated, including giant waterlily which boasts the biggest leaf among all aquatic plants, with a diameter of 2 meters and a load-bearing ability of about 30 kilograms. Based on its own advantages, the botanical garden also cultivates a rose garden covering an area of 200 mu (about 133,33 square meters).188 types of featured rose and Chinese rose from home and abroad, including as much as 46 varieties of world-famous Austin Rose, will be displayed.
