On February 22, the fifth day of the Spring Festival "golden week", Wulingyuan core scenic area of Zhangjiajie welcomed its travel peak of the year. According to incomplete statistics, almost 50,000 tourists visited the scenic area braving the rain.
From the afternoon of Feb. 22, the returning of self-drive traveling, coupled with continuous rain, made the Zhangqing (from Zhangjiajie to Huanglongdong) Highway and Yanglong (from Yanghe to Huanglongdong) Highway outside the core scenic area a little bit crowded. However, traffic run smoothly on the whole. In the area, environmental protection vehicles, elevators, cableways and sightseeing trolleys worked well without stranded visitors.
Because of the weather, Shuiraosimen (four streams converge here), Ten-mile Gallery, and Golden Whip Stream won the favor of tourists. Another 300 workers of the scenic area joined in the services on Feb 23.
