The Ministry of Civil Affairs will access Liuyang's performance in the application for the world cultural heritage site-Millennium Ancient County today. Dazzling fireworks and wonderful performances, one of the assessed items, are to be staged on Liuyang Viewing Stand to display the local features and culture.

The application for Millennium Ancient County is an important project of China's conservation work for geographical names jointly launched by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and United Nations Group of Experts on Geographical Names. With rich geographical names and culture and other qualifications, Liuyang is approved as one of Hunan's three units applying for the world cultural heritage.
