On May 1st, Hunan's first Butterfly Culture Theme Park opened in Wangcheng District of Changsha, the hometown of Leifeng. The world's most beautiful butterfly specimen, acclaimed as "Bright Goddess Butterfly", was officially displayed to tourists.
This park, known as "Guangming Butterfly Valley Ecological Theme Park", is located at Guangming Village, Wangcheng District of Changsha, covering an area of 600 mu (40 hectares). It is a multifunctional theme park integrating butterfly breeding, insect research, science education, and sightseeing. The theme park is equipped with the largest butterfly net house for view and the biggest square for butterfly release in Asia, as well as the most modern-designed butterfly culture exhibition center with a great variety of butterfly in Central South China.
In addition, there are numerous nectar plants and natural vegetation in the net house. It is expected to keep tens of thousands of butterflies of about a hundred varieties for tourists to appreciate every day from April to November.
