On April 26, the largest dish of Shredded Pork with Pepper at worldwide, weighing 1,250 kilograms, was prepared in Changsha. Thousands of citizens on the site had a taste of the dish.
Under the lead of Hunan chef Peng Shuwei, nearly a hundred of chefs from local restaurants jointly finished the largest dish in a tailor-made iron pan, measuring 10-meter long and wide. The dish was made with 500 kilogram of fresh pork, 500 kilogram of peppers, and hundreds of kilogram of condiments such as garlic, fermented soya beans, oil, and salt.
Shredded Pork with Pepper is a typical Hunan cuisine, fully embodying the pushy but capable personal character of Hunan people. When talking about the intention of the activity, Peng Shuwei said it was just an innovation to try something never done before.
After three hours’ cooking, the delicious dish was immediately shared by people on the site with their own table wares.
