World’s First Mountain Tunnel Elevator Put into Use in Zhangjiajie
The world’s first mountain tunnel elevator started operation in Zhangjiajie, Hunan on December 28, 2013. It is 692 meters long and can carry 72,000 passengers per day. For those who want to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Tianmen Cave but are unable to climb the 999 steps, they can now ascend to the cave with ease and save at least half an hour.
