On December 21, participants of the Hunan Province Foreigner Photo Contest arrived in Fenghuang in western Hunan, one of the most beautiful ancient towns in China.
It was the first time for most of the ten participants from eight countries like Syria, Egypt and Romania to Fenghuang. Far away from the hustle and bustle of the cities, stepping on the aged bluestones, walking through buildings of antique beauty, they experienced the enthusiasm of ethnic minorities while enjoying the charm. Enchanted by the fascinating scenery of primitive simplicity, they could not help stopping for photo taking, hoping to take the appealing pictures back home and share their happiness with more friends.
In the evening, they appreciated the campfire, in which Xiangxi traditional songs and dances, folk custom, and walking corpse were performed. Lots of performances such as climbing knife ladders and walking in fire greatly surprised the contestants. Affected by the atmosphere, international friends participated in the performances on the stage and interacted with local people, which brought great pleasure and made visitors laugh happily.
