First General Airport in Central China to Start Construction in Zhuzhou
The first general airport of central China will start construction in Zhuzhou, Hunan, in September this year. This airport is scheduled to be put into use when it is able to support various general-purpose planes by next October.
 
Located in Wulidun village Lusong district, Zhuzhou general airport is composed of airfield runway, tug channel, comprehensive command floor, ground service building, parking apron and fuel stop. The runway of the first phase project will be 800 meters long and 30 meters wide, sized for airplanes and helicopters of all kinds below 5500 kg. The airport also plans to build meteorological station, radar system and visual AIDS.
 
According to the plan, the airport is expected to drive the development of emergency relief, navigation operation, business flying and sightseeing in Hunan province and even the central China as a whole.
