Meixi Lake International Culture and Art Center to Open in 2015

Meixi Lake International Culture and Art Center is planned to  open in October, 2015. More than ten curators from internationally renowned art galleries and exhibitors gathered in Changsha to explore the artistic position and exhibition planning of the center.

This is the first symposium of exhibitors. It aimed to ensure enough time to make preparations, guarantee exhibition standard, increase the influence of art galleries in the international arena, and attract more outstanding curators to participate this program.

As one of organizers of the symposium, Thomas Krens, chairman & CEO of The Global Cultural Assets Management Company (GCAM) briefed the participants on the works of various world well-known artists. He stated that instead of appreciating works, his introduction aimed to discuss tailored exhibits, from which people could get inspiration and which could be bought at best price.

Hou Haoru, curator and exhibition and public project director of San Francisco Art Institute, remarked that the architecture of the center was special. Due attention should be paid to the relationship between building and art, in particular, the features of tailored works.

Austria Peter Neuville, honorary chairman of Application and Modern Art Gallery of Vienna,  quite agreed with Hou and he also noted works should be tailored according to exhibition forms.
