Liye Ancient Town
It is revealed by the Hunan Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau that the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and the Ministry of Finance released the Special Plan on the Protection of Great Relics in the Twelfth Five-Year Plan Period (2011-2015).
According to the plan, the state will increase financial support to protect 150 great relics, including six sites in Hunan, namely, Liye Ancient Town, Tongguan Kiln, Chengtoushan Site (Bashidang Sites and Pengtoushan Sites included), Laosi Town Site, Tanlihe Site and Tomb Cluster Changsha Kingdom in Han Dynasty (206BC-220AD).
An official from the Hunan Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau remarked, "The issue of the plan is expected to directly promote the protection of relics in China and the special fund appropriated by the state will guide financial assistance from the local government."
Liye Ancient Town and Tongguan Kiln have completed phase one construction and open to public. The other four sites are now under intense protection and construction.
