Zhijiang Japanese Surrender Acceptance Site Become A Hot Spots

Zhijiang County in the west of Hunan Province witnessed a tourism boom during the first quarter of 2013. The Japanese Surrender Acceptance Site in the county embraces a continuous stream of domestic and overseas tourists with its parking lot crowded with cars and tourist buses.

In recent years, Zhijiang has implemented the strategy of promoting peace tourism industry around the world to develop into a county with powerful tourism industry in the country. The county tapped its distinctive tourism resources especially the peace culture, historical culture, folk customs and ecological culture.

This year, the county is speeding up the construction of some scenic spots such as Zhijiang Peace Park, Sandaokeng Original Eco-tourism Zone as well as the restoration of Flying Tigers Sino-US Allied Air Force Control Tower and Sin-US Air Force Club. The project to expand and upgrade the Japanese Surrender Acceptance Site has also started.

The county's popular "peace tour" image attracted over 592,000 visitors in Q1, bringing in a revenue of 240 million yuan, up 21.8% and 40.3% respectively compared with the same period of 2012.
