According to the 7th National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units Name List revealed on the website of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage on May 4, there are 1,943 new national key cultural relic protection units in China, 123 of which are in Hunan.
The new units in Hunan include 32 ancient ruins, 14 ancient tombs, 42 historic buildings, 6 cave temples and stone inscription and 29 representative buildings from modern history.
Mawangdui Han tombs where Xin Zhui was excavated and the Han Tomb Complex were included. Hunan has always been a province of abundant revolutionary cultural relics. The former residences of He Shuheng, Lin Boqu, Luo Ronghuan and Hu Yaobang were selected together with the site of Hunan’s uprisings and the site of Changjiao Massacre. Moreover, the tomb of Zeng Guofan, the Tomb and Former Residence of Wang Chuanshan, the Yuwang Tablet and the site of Guizailing in Dao County are all promoted as the National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
