Changsha County to Build 100-meter-wide, 8-meter-high Artificial Waterfall

Changsha County is planning an artificial waterfall, 8 meters high and 100 meters wide, in the Gaohu Park of Xingsha, says the construction plan approved by domestic experts on March 28.

Gaohu Park, sitting right next to Songya Lake, is projected to cover an area of 280 mu (about 18.67 hectares), including ecological wetland, leisure park, and a continuation of urban scenery. The park, whose construction started this year, will open to the public at the end of next year.

The artificial waterfall is designed based on the vertical drop between Gaohu Lake and Songya Lake. According to Deputy Manager of Changsha Songya Lake Construction and Investment Co., Ltd. Zhu Ju, the underground drive-through below the waterfall will be able to accommodate two-way 4-lane traffic and will be more like a subsea tunnel that needs no lighting in the daytime.
