At 9:30 a.m. of March 19, a runway show on the theme of "Beauty in Fields", lively broadcasted on the website of Rednet, was kicked off in the rain, declaring the opening of the 2013 Anren Shennong Cultural Festival & the 5th Cole Flower Festival.
The show was co-organized by the Hunan Libang Property Development Co., Ltd. and Hunan Qinqi Art Works of Carved Rosewood Roots Co., Ltd.
Consisting of 9 activities, the festival, celebrating folk customs like Ganfenshe or Pharmacist Festival in Spring Equinox, boasts such newly added programs as the Shenong Heirs Challenge, Carving on Rice Competition and cultural activities at squares, in addition to the usual tributes to Shennong, cultivation announcement and photo contests.
On March 20, the spring equinox in lunar year, visitors can not only witness the ceremony of paying a tribute to Shennong and cultivation announcement, but also enjoy the special feast of promoting agriculture cultivation and unique sacrificial culture of pharmacist in the Pharmacist Temple or Yonglejiang County, as well as savoring the beauty of cole flowers and the delicious soup of pig's feet stewed with herbal medicines.
The festival will last till March 30.
