China Post held the launching ceremony in Changde on March 16 to issue the first set of "Peach blossom" stamps. This set, consisting of 12 stamps with a face value of 13.90 yuan, has the largest number among other sets of flower-themed stamp issued in recent years.
The peach blossoms in the album are displayed in different manners and painted in elaborate style. At the same time, the fragrance of peach flower strikes reader's nose because of utilization of peach flavor-scented ink during printing process.
Simultaneously, China Post also revealed such stamps as "A city in peach blossom- Changde", " Beautiful and luxuriant peach blossom", "Peach blossom world" and staple holder "Peach blossom" as well as the commemorative envelope.
Peach blossom is a famous flower among Chinese, representing the coming of spring. It is a typical image endowed with deep affection and emotion in Chinese classical poetry.
