"China’s Most Attractive Leisure Village": Guanshan Village of Hunan

The list of “China’s Most Attractive Leisure Villages in 2012” was revealed in Zhangjiagang City, Jiangshu Province. Guanshan Village of Jinzhou Town, Ningxiang County was on the list, making it the first village in Hunan to acquire such an honor. 

Since 2010, the Ministry of Agriculture has launched the selection of “China’s Most Attractive Leisure Villages”.

Every year, it approves 10 most charming villages and recommends them to the public.  
 
Themed “Developing planning and breeding industry, exploiting leisure tourism and constructing ecological Guanshan Village with mountains and rivers”, Guanshan Village has shown notable progress in comprehensive improvement of land, land transfer, and economical and intensive development as well as utilization of the territory. It aims to construct a rural cultural leisure scenic spot which integrates meetings, gatherings, cuisine and vacationing. Currently, the village boasts of over 30 construction projects with a social capital of more than 1 billion yuan. Four modern agricultural bases of grape, fruit, tea leaf, and vegetable and aquatic products, with a respective area of 1,000 mu (about 67 hectares), have taken shape. In addition, more than 90 recreational farmhouses have been developed.
