Hunan’s Tourism Revenue up 29.91% for Spring Festival - Zhangjiajie news,Fenghuang News,Hunan News,Changsha News - Zhangjiajie Tours

The number of tourists traveling in Hunan during the Spring Festival holiday hit 9.7073 million, up 27.28 percent from the same period last year. The record high increase brought in the province's tourism revenue up 29.91 percent during the 7-day holiday, which is estimated to stand at 5.374 billion yuan and set a new record.

Cities and prefecture with a tourist arrival of more than 500 thousand are, in order, Changsha, Xiangtan, Hengyang, Huaihua, Yueyang, Yiyang, Chenzhou, and Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. The number of tourists to Changsha, Xiangtan and Hengyang exceeding 1.2 million respectively.

Shaoshan, Nanyue Mountain, Yuelu Mountain, Yueyang Pavillion, Langshan Mountain, and Wulingyuan Scenic Spot proved to be the most popular destinations. Nanyue Mountain, in particular, has received over 400 thousand tourists.

Hotels in Hengyang, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Shaoyang, Huaihua, Yueyang, and Chenzhou all declared 90 percent to 100 percent occupancy.

Sample survey shows that per-capita spending of overnight visitors to Changsha increased by 78 yuan year-on-year to 904 yuan a day and that of same-day visitors rose by 50 yuan to 606 yuan.
