Guidong Conferred "China’s Demonstration County for Best Ecological Tourism"

Guidong Tourism Bureau recently released a statement confirming Guidong County status as the only county in Hunan to be conferred “China’s Demonstration County for Best Ecological Tourism” by China Tourism Industry Association and China Brand Building Society. It is the first time for Guidong to win such an honor in tourism.

Guidong, an exemplary county, enjoying a sound ecological environment, is located near Dongjiang Lake and Leishui River. With dense virgin and secondary forests, Guidong’s forest coverage reaches 82.36%, ranking first in Hunan. By fully utilizing its rich tourism resources and ecological environment, Guidong in recent years has made great efforts in building a health-preserving paradise and summer resort, steadily promoting ten key tourism projects, improving tourism infrastructure, and upgrading soft power and hard power of tourism industry.

A series of activities have been successfully arranged in Guidong in recent years, including Hippocampus Knights Guidong Ecological Journey themed “Dating Guidong” in 2012, China Hunan International Tourism Festival and Guidong County Leisure Tourism Culture Festival themed "Leisure City of Chenzhou and Eco-county of Guidong" in 2012, and a large-scale ecological public activity themed “We Are in Action for Low-carbon Riding” in 2013.
