Yesterday morning, in order to celebrate the openness of the direct charter flight from Xiamen to ZhangJiajie on June 27th and strengthen the communication and exchange between the Xiamen and periphery tourism market and the tourism circle in ZhangJiajie, Wulingyuan district government, Zhangjiajie national Forest Park management office with Zhangjiajie major scenic spots and brand travel agency specially gathered in Xiamen Baolong Pullman Hotel, organized the "2012 Zhangjiajie tourism products promotion in Xiamen". Using “close to Zhangjiajie “as the theme, the promotion was presenting the splendid natural scene and folk customs to the citizens in Xiamen. Nearly two hundred people included YangFanggen, the tourism bureau deputy director in Xiamen city, and some elite from great Xiamen travel agency presented this promotion meeting.
Reportedly, lots of prototypes of “Planet Pandora” in the film of Avatar come from the mountains of zhangjiajie, of which the South Pillar of Heaven is the antitype of Hallelujah Mountains, the floating one. The south pillar of heaven is about 150 meters, whose top is a wild profusion of vegetation. Its peak body models unique, vertical cutting down significantly, and likes floating in the air.

According to information, in order to serve tourists better, zhangjiajie perfects and increases more service facilities in this year, for example a well – designed commercial street ------Xibu street which was officially opened on May 16th, and there are water bar, boutique shop, local snacks, characteristic inn and creative studio; star hotel also grow to 58, with almost more than 50,000 beds.
