The Chaotian Temple in Zhangjiajie becomes the topic scenic spot of relics tour

On June 14, the Writers' Association of Wulingyuan District, Zhangjiajie City organized 22 members to take a view in the Chaotian Temple site of National Forest Park in Zhangjiajie, to pay a visit to the humanity history about the natural mountains and rivers in their hometown. It is reported that Choutian Temple is the largest, with the longest history in the Wulingyuan scenic spot with the title of World's Natural heritage, and it has gained the attention of people from all walks of life, now being the topic relic scenic spot in Zhangjiajie.

The Old temple is on the top of the mountains, and you can have a good view when having a look from it. After two hours' journey, the 22 members in the Writers' Association of Wulingyuan District reached the Chaotian Temple of the Chaotian Mount in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park at 10 a.m. that day. Although there only few broken walls left in the old temple, all the members were deeply attracted by the well-protected more than 40 inscription stones. In the old temple, all the members were active: some tried their best to recognize the inscriptions; some were feeling the gradually weathering broken walls; some were overlooking mountains and peaks in the distant;some were chatting with the people who protecting the forest .

A member who attending this visit to Chaotian Temple said:" through this experience, we know that zhangjiajie not only holds the marvelous natural scenary, but also cultural relics with a long history. The Chaotian Temple is the cultural treasure of Zhangjiajie, so we have the responsibility to protect, exploit and promote it."

The Chaotian Mount which the Chaotian Temple is located ,with a height of 1227.3 meters, is very precipitous. According to the historic data, Chaotian Temple was built in the Han Dynasty, ever experiencing several catastrophes, therefore almost turning to be destroyed. During the the emperor Kangxi' s time, the temple was rebuilt , and in the emperor Qianlong's time, the brothers whose family name was Li, found a bronze statue of emperor Zhenwu when they were working in the land, then they worshiped it in the temple, and from that on, the temple became famous and many people came to it. In the late days, the temple had been repaired for many times, therefore, now it wears an area of 1,900 square kilometers ,with 20 halls, becoming another well-known temple in Wulingyuan. Chaotian Temple has a unique design, with mountains surrounding it, doors and windows, pillars and board made of rocks and holds carvings;moreover, the deity statues were made of golden materials and painted with color, even though ever broken by bandits during the Republic of China.

The existing parts of stone walls and doors in the Chaotian Temple include 17 small stone doors and 42 inscriptions from past dynasties.
