XiangXi Handmade Little Knitted-Basket

 
There are many little knitted--basket in XiangXi. When a girl is married, "the washing basket" is the wedding accessory. When a girl gives birth to a child, her parents' home bring" the parents' basket". Moreover, there are also many baskets, such as "high basket", "water basket", "firewood basket" and so on."the parents' basket" is also called "the son's basket", which is used for carring their child. According to the different applications, the standard and manufacture for basket will also differ from other other.
Basket which is used for the production usually big and rough, while for the living always small and exquisite. "firewood basket" is knitted by the green bamboo and with the larger shape. It is surrounded by the "wall" with bamboo. "washing basket" has exquisite materials which is knitted by the break pieces bamboo. It is large in the top and small in the bottom. "wedding accessory's basket" seems to "the washing basket", just making process more fastidious. The opening of basket is made of the mottled bamboo and green bamboo,which shows the combination with Ying and Yang. The central is painted 3 cm circle in red, which symbols festivity. The exquisitation of Alemeth silk as well as the unique in design and skillful in decorative pattern, which is to show  the bride has brilliant ingenuity. The basket for carring the child is the chair posture. Basket made with bamboo frame and cloth is used for straps.
