Golden Whip Stream:The Most Beautiful Gorge in the World

Located in eastern part of the park, Golden Whip Stream was named after  Golden Whip Rock. Merged with Pipa Stream, Golden Whip Stream flows into Suoxi Stream. With dense forest, clean water, beautiful flower and grotesque peaks, Golden Whip Stream is a quiet and mysterious gorge. It was praised as the most beautiful gorge in the world.The main scenic spots are Guimen Peak, Golden Whip Crag, Hawk protection Golden Whip, Zicao Pond, Lovers peaks and Jumping Fish Pond.

Golden Whip Rock
500 meters far away, there is a grand peak about 400 meters high. The peak was named  Golden Whip Rock. According to ancient stories, Emperor Qing Shihuang left golden whip . It is famous scenic spot in Zhangjiajie.

Hawk Protecting the Whip
On the left of Golden Whip Rock, a peak looks like a hawk string its wings. The hawk protects the Golden Whip.

Purple Grass Pool
Located in midpoint of Golden Whip Stream, Purple Grass Pool is 4 meters wide and 15 meters long. We can see fish wandering in clean water, dense wood and high peaks. The large rock lay beside the stream is undefiled.

The Lovers Peaks
Walking down the stream and passing a bend, we can see two peaks. The left peak looks like a soldier and the right peak looks like a woman. They are face to face and cuddle together. They make an appointment after a long separation.

The Jumping Fish Pool
We pass the wood, which has the Lovers Tree, and arrive at The Jumping Fish Pool. On the bed of red sandstone, there are grooves, which are 2 meters long and 30 cm wide. The groove was named fish door. In the spring, fish jump to upriver stream because of shallow water. It's interesting that local people picked up fish jumped from water on the bank of the pool in the past.
