Meeting in Zhangjiajie Tourism City

The beautiful Zhangjiajie is located in the west northern part of Hunan Province. It occupies an area of 965049 Hectares and has the population of 1.5 million. The population of ethnic groups constitutes 73 percent of the total population. Tujia, Bai and Mao are major minority nationalities.

Zhangjiajie city is famous for unique Quartz Sandstone Peaks, well-preserved wildwood and special culture of ethnic groups. So, Zhangjiajie attract more and more tourists. In China, Zhangjiajie was listed in Key Scenic Area, 4A Class Scenic Area and Best tourism City. With large area and complex physiognomy, Zhangjiajie is attributable to subtropical monsoon climate. The annual average temperature is 16 degrees centigrade. 97% of area is covered by forest. Atmosphere of Zhangjiajie is very clean and contains much fulizi.

With a long history, Zhangjiajie was called in the past. In western Zhou Dynasty, Zhangjiajie was dominated by Jinzhou. Zhangjiajie was ruled by Qianzhong in spring and Autumn Period and was dominated by Cigu County in Qin Dynasty (about 221 BC). Due to long history and beautiful scenery, rich folk culture appeared here. Now, there are Puguang (Every Bright) Temple, Wulei (Five Thunder) Temple and Jade Emperor Grotto in Zhangjiajie. Yang Opera originated in Zhangjiajie. It was also hometown of folk songs, which have famous Sangzhi folk songs, Maogusi Dance, Baishou (Wave Hand Dance) and so on.

The natural scenery in Zhangjiajie is wonderful. The first national forest park, whose name is Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, and Wulingyuan Scenic Area, which was listed World Nature Heritage by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in 1992, are in Zhangjiajie. There are three thousands peaks, eight hundreds streams and spectacle of Yellow Dragon Cave and Jiutian (Nine Sky) Cave in Zhangjiajie. In scenic area, there are peaks, forest, caves, lakes and waterfalls everywhere. Many tourist praised Zhangjiajie as Diminished Fairy Land and Enlarged Bonsai, because of its characters of unique, grace, quiet, wild and steep. Beside, there are several scenic spots, such as, Maoyan River, Jiutian Cave and Tianmen Mountain near Zhangjiajie. So, Zhangjiajie is the kingdom of nature tourism.

The transportation of Zhangjiajie is convenient. Airport, which has flights connect with big cities, is 8 kilometers away from the city. There are trains direct to Beijing, Guangzhou, Changsha, Liuzhou and Xiangfan. There are some roads across Zhangjiajie
